Endpoint
A measured outcome used to assess whether a trial treatment worked.
Definition
Primary endpoints are pre-specified and determine trial success. Secondary endpoints are exploratory or hypothesis-generating. Composite endpoints combine related outcomes (e.g., MACE = major adverse cardiac events).
