Number Needed to Treat
How many patients must be treated for one additional beneficial outcome.
Definition
NNT is the reciprocal of the absolute risk reduction. Smaller NNT = more effective treatment. It gives a clinically interpretable sense of trial-effect magnitude that relative measures can obscure.
