Pharmacology
Ghrelin Receptor (GHSR-1a)
The growth hormone secretagogue receptor bound by ghrelin, ipamorelin, and MK-677.
Definition
GHSR-1a is a class A GPCR expressed in the pituitary and hypothalamus. Ghrelin agonists like ipamorelin and MK-677 stimulate GH release through a pathway distinct from GHRH, producing additive effects when co-administered.
